Dalia when pronounced DAL-yah is written in Japanese as:    This is read daria and is a phonetic translation to katakana. Katakana is the standard way names are translated to Japanese and, just like in English, the characters have no meaning. To be absolutely correct when translating names, use katakana as shown above. Note that one also commonly sees the romaji dariya and da-ria using this same pronunciation. Names with different spellings, but the same pronunciation, translate the same.
