The Japanese word chuugi is composed of the kanji chuu meaning "Loyalty" and gi meaning "Loyalty" and also "Righteousness." Loyalty (Chuugi) is commonly used in everyday Japanese and it is also an important component of Bushido, the Samurai Code of Chivalry and is one of the Seven Virtues of Bushido.
