Niten Ichiryu in Japanese is niten ichiryuu and is written in kanji as  Niten ichiryuu literally means "Two Heavens, One Style" and is composed of the kanji ni meaning "Two," ten meaning "Heaven," ichi meaning "One," and ryuu meaning "Style." This style was developed by Miyamoto Musashi in the 17th century and is a fighting style using both the long and the short sword.
