The Japanese word yuuki meaning "courage; bravery; valor; boldness" is composed of the kanji  (read yuu) meaning "courage; bravery" and  (read ki) meaning "spirit; mind". Notice that there are two ways to write the kanji ki. The older form is  and is used in the design VB2B and the newer form is  and is used in the design VB2A below. An interesting fact is that the newer form of ki is not defined for the cursive script and so the archaic form is always used.
