The Japanese word inochi means "Life" or "One's Life" and since ancient times has been used in body art combined with a name to symbolize that person being one's whole life. This is appropriate to use for a spouse, a lover, one's child or whenever you would like to indicate a person as being your whole life. It is also appropriate to use more than one name in the design.
